Security Director Canada–(Grade - 12)
Job Function:
Reports to the Executive Director Security – Plant Operations North America
Works with Operating management to establish and maintain policies that protect employees and company assets. Performs a variety of administrative tasks including documenting activities, developing policies which are consistent with security best practices, and conducts investigations. Responsible for the security of multiple locations operating on several shifts. Manages 3rd party guard service, ensures appropriate coverage and maintains alarms, CCTV and access control systems.
Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for Security Guards and Security Systems in all Canadian Estee Lauder facilities, including the liaison with outside security service providers, and the management of response to alarms and emergencies. Guard coverage and security systems are developed commensurate to risk and within budgetary allotments.
2. Responsible for vendor and project management for access control, CCTV and related security equipment. Review of all security related invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
3. Promotes an environment which encourages the development and implementation of “security best practices.” Ensures consistency in the enforcement of polices across all sites.
4. Establishes a business partnership with all other departments facilitating the achievement of company goals while controlling risks to assets.
5. Identifies security risks and recommends mitigation methods which support security
requirements and business needs.
6. Provides security plans for company special events to control access and protect employees. Provides security for Employee Sales, Warehouse Sales and "plant open" hours outside of regular work hours.
7. Conducts confidential investigations as required and makes recommendations for preventive or remedial actions. Assist other Global Security Teams as required. Conducts audits of 3rd Party manufacturing, production and distribution facilities.
8. Coordinates the witnessed destruction of company products classified as DAV/NCR.
9. Provides guidance to Human Resources regarding the interpretation of adverse information discovered during employee background screening.
10. Maintain effective relationships with law enforcement agencies.
11. Manages employee performance and development process through active monitoring and candid feedback.
12. Conducts security policy and awareness training for all employees.
13. Travels between facilities and other affiliates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Professional certification preferred i.e. CPP,CFE
Impeccable integrity
Commitment to excellence and teamwork
10 years law enforcement / corporate security in supervisory / management role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Significant investigative experience preferred
Working knowledge of security systems
Project management skills
Demonstrated proficiency in all MS computer programs
Available for off-shift, nights and weekends as needed
